Ava Buchanan (Maria Callas) last appeared as Grandma in The Addams Family. Roles include Mame (Mame), Miss Hannigan (Annie), Amanda (The Glass Menagerie), Martha (Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf), The Witch (Into the Woods), Desiree (A Little Night Music), Dolly (Hello Dolly), The Chaperone (The Drowsy Chaperone), Rose (Gypsy), Joanne (Company), and Fraulin Schneider (Cabaret). She gives special thanks to Drew Baker for her invaluable assistance. “This one is for Bill, who never failed to send me flowers on opening night.”

​​Nicholas Vasilios Pappas (Accompanist/Manny) is a Tuscaloosa native and multi-hyphenate theatre artist. He is happy to return to the Theatre Tuscaloosa stage after recent performances in The Addams Family (Mal) and Ragtime (Conklin). Many thanks to Theresa, Michael, Sam, Stella, and Asa for putting up with the amount of rehearsals he goes to and also to his WART co-conspirators who keep his artistic spirit alive.

Meredith Vaughn (Soprano/Sophie) is a BFA graduate from the University of Montevallo and is so thrilled to be part of this fantastic show, working with such an amazing director, cast and crew! Previous credits include: The Addams Family, Ragtime, Some Enchanted Evening, Mamma Mia!, Grease, and Cabaret with Theatre Tuscaloosa and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and Peter Pan with VST.  She would also like to thank Karen and the late Ed White for her classical training that she now finally gets to utilize.​

George Thagard (Stagehand) welcomes the opportunity to return to Theatre Tuscaloosa as part of this fantastic production which offers lessons to be learned. George was last seen in Theatre Tuscaloosa’s most recent production of Inherit the Wind. He also appeared as “Ebenezer Scrooge” in Theatre Tuscaloosa’s latest production of A Christmas Carol. George is thankful for good friends and wishes Ernie all the best in his recovery.

Royce G. Garrison (Tenor/Tony) is thrilled to be back on stage with Theatre Tuscaloosa. He was last seen as “Houdini” in the 2024 encore presentation of Ragtime. Past TT credits include The King & I, Company, Cabaret, Once Upon A Mattress, and Some Enchanted Evening. Other favorite credits include Urinetown, Sweeney Todd, Kiss of the Spider Woman, and Assassins. Royce thanks this amazing cast and crew and thanks YOU for supporting local theatre!

Natassia Perrine (Soprano/Sharon) is thrilled to make her Theatre Tuscaloosa debut. After years on the other side of productions, she couldn’t have imagined a more perfect return to the stage. She’s deeply grateful to her talented castmates, crew, and production team for their warm welcome and support. This experience has been an absolute joy and a much-needed reminder to make time for her passions.

Anna Clay Adams (Sharon Understudy) is thrilled to have the opportunity to work with Theatre Tuscaloosa for the first time. She moved to Tuscaloosa from Albertville, AL in 2017 to begin her undergraduate journey and has been here ever since. Anna Clay works for The University of Alabama within Continuing Education and Lifelong Learning. Being a part of Master Class has been such a wonderful learning and growing experience filled with the most amazing and talented humans.

Allison “Dr Diva” Upshaw (Master Class Director) is a native of Forest Home, Alabama. She holds degrees in voice performance from Oberlin Conservatory and Louisiana State University respectively. Allison completed her doctorate in interdisciplinary studies at the University of Alabama. She is a published author, a playwright, a master Teaching Artist, education consultant, and a proud member of Actor’s Equity.
