Averie Bonneville
Averie Bonneville (Darlene Henshaw): Averie is a Shelton State student who has performed previously with Theatre Tuscaloosa, Tuscaloosa Children's Theatre, and The Actor's Charitable Theatre. Her previous roles include Sister Mary Patrick in Sister Act and ensemble in Mamma Mia! She is excited to be performing in her first non-musical production.
Carol DeVelice
Carol DeVelice (Luella Bennett): Carol DeVelice is a member of the All Star Cast, having been involved with Theatre Tuscaloosa since the late 1970’s. Most recently you have seen her in Erma Bombeck: At Wit’s End. She is the Tuscaloosa Coordinator for Hand in Paw, bringing animal assisted therapy to our area.
JaVonte Gowdy
JaVonte Gowdy (Buddy Layman): Javonte Gowdy Is currently enrolled in Hillcrest High School. His past credits include “Sebastian” in The Little Mermaid, and “Kyle” in Band Geeks at Hillcrest High School.
James Howell
James Howell (Basil Bennett): James trained in Hollywood where he has credits in film, television and stage. Television credits include Mad Men, Cold Case and X-Files. Other film experience includes Forest Gump and The Favorite. Some theatre credits include “Eddie” in Fool For Love, “George” in Of Mice and Men, and “Dr. Brubaker” in The Seven Year Itch.
Louise Manos
Louise Manos (Norma Henshaw): Louise is a Tuscaloosa native who works as a radiation therapist at the Manderson Cancer Center. Past Theatre Tuscaloosa roles include “Sugar Lee” in The Hallelujah Girls; “Gingy” in Love, Loss, and What I Wore; and “Dinah” in The Dixie Swim Club. Louise is delighted to be in this show with these talented actors.
DeAnthony Mays
DeAnthony Mays (C.C. Showers): DeAnthony has acted in Theatre Tuscaloosa for 9 productions since 2021. Recent credits include “Matthew Henson” in Ragtime, “Joey” in Sister Act, and “Bill Riddick” in Best of Enemies. DeAnthony is excited to bring this magnificent show to life with these amazing people!
LaVorius McCruter
LaVorius McCruter (Dewey Maples): LaVorius is a student at Shelton State Community College who plans to pursue acting as a career. His previous credits include Once on this Island and Emma the Pop Musical with Central High School in Tuscaloosa, AL.
Adam Miller
Adam Miller (Melvin Wilder): Adam M. Miller has served as Theatre Tuscaloosa’s Managing Director since 2010. Credits include “Ebeneezer Scrudge” in Lights Out in Cootah County, “Mason Miller” in The End of a Line (ACTFest 2018 Best of Show), “Ben Hecht” in Moonlight & Magnolias, and “Venticelli #1” in Amadeus.
Mark Nuismer
Mark Nuismer (Ferris Layman): Mark’s previous credits include “Grandpa Vanderhof” in You Can’t Take It With You and “Andrew Aguecheek” in Twelfth Night in high school in Salt Lake, Utah. He has a BM degree in Composition from PSU, magnum cum laude, and is a semi professional pianist. He thanks Theatre Tuscaloosa for this opportunity.
Emma Carys Robinson
Emma Carys Robinson (Jennie Mae Layman): Emma is currently studying ELA Secondary Education at UA. Previous credits include “Rosalia” (West Side Story) at SHINE in Plano, TX, “Ursula” (The Little Mermaid) at TXMTC in Keller, TX, and “Dragon” (Shrek the Musical) at Artisan Center Theater in Hurst, TX. Emma thanks her family and friends for their support.
