SARA-MARGARET CATES is an AFAA certified group exercise instructor with a lifelong passion for theatre and dance. Theatre Tuscaloosa audiences will recognize her from Sylvia, Honky Tonk Angels, and A Christmas Story. She graduates in May with her masters in health studies. She also enjoys directing for Tuscaloosa Children's Theatre in her spare time. She first started taking Zumba classes at the UA Rec Center and quickly fell in love with the fun moves and awesome music. She licensed with Zumba Fitness B1 in February of 2011, B2 and Aqua Zumba followed in 2012. Her favorite Zumba songs (right now) are “Back in Time” and “En Sus Marcas Listos Fuera". Currently, she teaches 6am on Tuesdays and 5:30pm on Thursdays at UA's Student Recreation Center. She hopes to encourage new Zumba participants to “join the party!” and have fun – this can include making up your own moves, singing along, or even just shouting for joy!
KEYSHONDA FORD (aka Key) is a wife, mother, English teacher, and certified zumba instructor. Keyshonda "Key" started teaching Zumba because she had an awesome, caring, energetic instructor. Her favorite song is "Zumba He, Zumba Ha" because it's one of the first songs she choreographed. If you have never tried zumba before, the advice Key would give is to come ready for a party, not a workout. Also, to leave all your worries and shame at the door. Key teaches on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at Lloyd Wood Middle School's gymnasium from 6:00- 7:00 p.m. The classes are $3 per session. She also teaches a FREE class on Saturday mornings at 8:30 at Daystar Family Church. Take that first step to a healthier you and be ready for chants like "Smile, it burns calories and SWEAT is just Fat Crying!"
LATRELLE BELL is CPR certified and licensed to teach Zumba Basic 1 and Zumba toning classes. She is married to David Bell and blessed with two wonderful daughters – Kim and Lizzy. Latrelle is the Executive Director at Hospice of West Alabama and has been with the agency for 16 years. Latrelle got started in Zumba after she wandered blindly into her first class. After 2 short months, she knew it was something that she wanted to take to the next level. She likes for her participants to lose themselves in the music and the fun. It’s a successful class for her when everyone is drenched in sweat, smiling from ear to ear, and building relationships with other class participants. Latrelle’s favorite routine is to the song called, Krazy – “It’s wild, exhilarating, and funky.” Latrelle’s advice for a newcomer would be to get ready to experience an addiction to Zumba – there is nothing else like it to help transform your attitude and your body. Latrelle teaches at Bama Cheer Xtreme on Monday and Thursday nights at 6:00 pm, and Saturday mornings at 9:00 am. Classes are $3 each. Feel free to contact Latrelle with any questions at 205-310-6477.
